Exports of Crude Oil in the United States decreased to 5608.51 USD Million in June from 5737.15 USD Million in May of 2019. Exports of Crude Oil in the United States averaged 405.98 USD Million from 1989 until 2019, reaching an all time high of 5737.15 USD Million in May of 2019 and a record low of 0 USD Million in October of 1992. Middle Eastern countries continued to generate the highest dollar value worth of crude oil exports during 2018 with shipments valued at $486.3 billion or 42.4% of globally exported crude oil. At the pure continent level, almost half of unprocessed petroleum oil came from countries in Asia (48.6%). US crude oil exports to other destinations surged, especially in South Korea (+246% to nearly 400 kb/d), India (+114% to over 380 kb/d) and the Netherlands (+192% to over 260 kb/d). Overall, US export to Asian countries grew by 58% (+472 kb/d). Prior to December 2015, crude oil exports were restricted to: (1) crude oil derived from fields under the State waters of Cook Inlet of Alaska; (2) Alaskan North Slope crude oil; (3) certain domestically produced crude oil destined for Canada; (4) shipments to U.S. territories; and (5) California crude oil to Pacific Rim countries. Net export" refers to the export minus the import. Note that the net export is approximate, since the import and export data are generally not for same year (though year-to-year changes are generally small). Many countries are missing data for either imports or exports, but this generally indicates that the missing number is small.
